Find a strategy
Strategies at https://app.orbitalaip.com/backtesting lists every strategy in the project. Filters sit above the list with their counts: All, Paper, Tested and Draft. A saved workflow whose graph qualifies is listed at once as a Draft; see Backtesting.
Search strategies ignores case and matches part of a name or of a row's second line, such as Rules · Daily · SPY · 2020-01 → 2024-12. Drafts are searched too.
Gallery and map
List and Gallery pick the view. Gallery draws a card for each strategy that has run: its curve against the benchmark and three tiles, Return, Max DD and Profitable trades. Drafts are listed in one line under the cards. The card's menu is the row's, so Delete… stays reachable.
In the list view the strategy map, Return per year against deepest drawdown, sits above the rows, and Map hides or shows it. Each dot is a strategy's latest tested run, sized by trades; higher and further left is better. Click a dot to open the strategy.
Compare strategies
Compare puts up to 20 strategies on one chart, rebased to 100 on the first day they all have data. Until a strategy has a completed run, Compare is dimmed and its tooltip reads Test a strategy first.
Tick the strategies
In the List view, tick rows, or tick Select every strategy on this page. Opened with nothing ticked, Compare loads every strategy with a completed run, up to 20.
Click Compare
It sits beside Strategies and in the selection tray. With more than 20 ticked the tray reads Compare takes up to 20 instead, so clear some first.
Adjust the chart
The × on a strategy's chip removes it, and Add a strategy… opens a picker. With two or more strategy lines, Blend equally adds an equal-weight mix rebalanced daily, a what-if rather than a strategy you have run.
The chart is Growth of 100 with a Drawdown pane under it. The table shows each strategy's Period of its run, Return, CAGR, Max DD, Sharpe and Trades, and marks the best figure in each column. The Sharpe here is the raw figure; the deflated Sharpe is in the list's Evidence column. With two or more strategy lines, Correlation of daily returns follows: 0 means two strategies move independently, 1 that they move in lockstep.
Delete one strategy
Deleting a strategy moves its workflow to Trash. The strategy and its runs go with it and come back with it.
Open the row's menu
Hover the strategy in the list and open More actions.
Click Delete…
The dialog is titled Delete this strategy? and reads Its workflow moves to Trash. You can restore it for 30 days. For a strategy that has run, it names its runs too.
Confirm with Delete
A toast reads 1 strategy moved to Trash. Click Undo on the toast to restore it at once.
The delete cancels a queued or running backtest of the strategy. It turns off any schedule, webhook or signal on the workflow, and they stay off after a restore, so turn each back on. A forward test on the strategy is not updated while the strategy is in Trash.
Deleting the workflow from Workflows moves it to Trash the same way, with the same refusal for a deployed strategy, but does not cancel a backtest in flight.
Delete several at once
Tick the strategies
In the List view, tick rows, or tick Select every strategy on this page. Tick drafts in the drafts group at the foot, or all of them with Select every draft.
Click Delete… in the tray
The dialog is titled, for example, Delete 9 strategies? and lists the first five names with their run counts.
Confirm with Delete 9
The toast reads 9 strategies moved to Trash with Undo.
A deployed strategy in the selection is left out before the dialog opens, and the dialog says so, for example Not included: “Golden cross” is paper trading. Stop it first to delete it. The toast counts any that were skipped, for example 1 not deleted: deployed.
Restore from Trash
Within 30 days, Restore on the workflow's row in Settings → Trash brings the strategy back to the list with its runs and versions; see Restore an item.
What a running deployment locks
A deployment that has not been stopped locks its strategy. A paused deployment, and one that needs attention or is stopping, counts as running.
Delete… is withheld from the row's menu while the strategy is deployed. The menu's foot says why, for example Paper trading · stop it to delete it. For an alert deployment it reads Sending signals to alerts · stop them to delete it. Stop a paper deployment in Trade, or use Stop signals… on the row. Delete… returns once the deployment has stopped; see Manage a deployment.
While a deployment runs the strategy, an agent's edits and program builds are refused, so it branches the strategy into a new draft instead; see Branching a deployed strategy.
A person is not locked out of the workflow editor. Saving a new version never changes a running deployment, which keeps the version it was deployed with; see Versions.
