Trade
Deploy a strategy to a paper account, set its budget and limits, and approve or stop what it does.
- Trade on paperWhat the Trade app shows, how paper trading on Alpaca works, what a deployment is, and what the account menu can pause, cancel and close.
- Connect AlpacaConnect an Alpaca paper account in Settings so the Trade app can place paper orders with it, then check it, sync it, reconnect it or disconnect it.
- Deploy a strategyDeploy a strategy's main version to an Alpaca paper account from Trade: the deploy review, why a deploy is refused, the orders it sends, the first run, and what an edit after deploy changes.
- Budgets and limitsEach deployment on a paper account has its own budget, caps on its entries and profit and loss from its own fills. Pausing or stopping one leaves the rest running.
- Approvals and permissionsThe trading permission a deployment runs under, what a held trade is and how long it waits, where approvals arrive, and how an agent's own permissions apply.
- Manage a deploymentPause, resume or stop one strategy, change its limits without stopping it, read the running-version notice, and use the account menu to pause, cancel or close everything on an account.
- P&L, orders and activityWhat each figure in Trade means and where it comes from: the Overview tiles, a deployment's Today, Realized gain and Trend, the Trades card, and the Positions, Orders and Activity tabs.
