Flags
A flag is a colour on one row of one list, shown as a thin stripe on the row's left edge. There are seven colours: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue and Purple.
Right-click the row
The menu opens with FLAG/UNFLAG NVDA at the top, naming the symbol.
Click a colour
The stripe appears at once.
Clear it
Click the active colour again; its tooltip reads Red (click to clear), for example. Unflag all symbols clears every flag on that list.
A flag belongs to the row, so the same symbol on two lists can carry two different flags.
Everyone in the project sees flags. Chat does not read or set them, and workflows do not read them.
Notes
A note is a research dossier for one symbol: a formatted description, a price target and a thread of comments. There is one note per symbol in a project. Every list in the project shows the same note, and the note exists even when the symbol is on no list.
Open the note panel
Hover over a row and click the pencil icon beside the ticker, or right-click the row and choose Add note for NVDA. The icon's tooltip reads Add a note for NVDA while there is no note, and Open note for NVDA once one exists. Once a symbol has a note, the icon stays visible in colour.
The panel holds DESCRIPTION and ACTIVITY on the left, and DETAILS, with PRICE TARGET, on the right.
Write the description
Start editing
Click Add a description…, or click the saved text. The formatting toolbar and editor appear, with the placeholder Write your thesis, catalysts, risks….
Save
The panel reads Unsaved changes while the text differs from what is stored. Click Save to keep it, or Cancel to drop the edit.
A description holds up to 200,000 bytes of formatted text.
Set a price target
Type a number into the box under PRICE TARGET. The target saves when you leave the box or press Enter. Beside it, the panel shows the distance to the target as a percentage of the current price, with Last: $… underneath. Clear the box to remove the target.
Comment
ACTIVITY is the note's comment thread. Type in the box that reads Add a comment… (⌘+Enter to send), then click Comment or press ⌘+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows). A comment is plain text of up to 8,000 characters.
Everyone in the project sees the thread, but only a comment's author can change it. Your own comments show a pencil (Edit) and a bin (Delete). Deleting a comment takes effect at once, with no confirmation, and the comment does not go to Trash.
Delete a note
Click Delete note
It sits at the bottom of DETAILS.
Confirm
Your browser asks Delete the note for NVDA? This moves it to Trash. It will be permanently deleted after 30 days. Click OK.
The comments go with the note and come back if you restore it: in Trash, where the note is listed by its symbol, click ⋮ on its row, then Restore.
While a symbol's note is in Trash, you cannot start a new one for that symbol. The panel opens empty, and nothing you write there is saved. Restore the old note to keep its history. To start fresh instead, a workspace owner or admin must delete it permanently.
Link to a note
Every note has an address: the Watchlists page with ?note= and the symbol, for example https://app.orbitalaip.com/watchlists?note=NVDA. Opening it shows the Watchlists page with that note's panel open, whether or not the symbol is on any list.
If the Watchlists app is off in the project, the page shows Watchlists is turned off in this project instead. See Apps.
Notes from Chat
Chat reads and writes notes in the thread's project. When the Watchlists app is off there, Chat has no note tools.
Ask about a symbol and Chat can read your note with get_notes: the description as plain text, up to its first 2,000 characters, and the price target. It does not read the comments.
Ask Chat to save a note and it answers with a proposal card: Save note for NVDA, or Update note for NVDA when the symbol already has one. Nothing is stored until you click Apply. If your message says to go ahead, Chat saves a new note at once. An update or a delete always shows its card first. See Proposals and approvals.
A proposal replaces only the fields it carries, so Chat can set a target without touching your text. A new description replaces the old one in full. To add to a note, ask Chat to read it first and rewrite it with the addition. Chat sees only the first 2,000 characters, without formatting, so a rewrite loses anything past that point. For a long or formatted note, add to it in the panel instead.
Chat cannot add comments. Once applied, Delete note for NVDA moves the note to Trash for 30 days, comments included.
