Open workspace settings

Settings opens as a dialog over the page you are on.

  1. Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar.

  2. Under Workspace, click General.

You can also go to app.orbitalaip.com/settings/workspace/general.

Settings always shows the current workspace. To change another workspace's settings, switch to it first. Open the workspace row at the top of the same menu and pick it under Workspaces.

General

General holds four settings, in this order:

  • Workspace logo: click Choose and pick a JPG, GIF or PNG of up to 1MB.
  • Workspace name: a new name also goes on your invoices. A blank name is not saved.
  • Workspace ID: the workspace's fixed identifier, which the button beside it copies. Its caption says it is sometimes used in API requests. A request made with an API key can leave it out, since each key belongs to one workspace.
  • Country: pick one of the 17 countries listed. It appears on your invoices and sets your tax location.

There is no Save button. A name saves when you stop typing or leave the field, and a country as soon as you pick it. For those two, the top right shows Saving…, then Saved, or the reason a change failed. A new logo saves at once and shows Workspace image updated.

Only workspace owners and admins can change the logo, the name or the country. For anyone else, Workspace name and Country are greyed out, and a logo upload is refused. See Members and roles.

Delete a workspace

Only the owner sees Delete workspace, under Danger zone at the foot of General. It never appears in your personal workspace (Personal unless you renamed it), which goes only with your account.

  1. Switch to the workspace

Pick it under Workspaces in the account menu.

  2. Click Delete

On General, click Delete beside Delete workspace.

  3. Confirm

In the Delete workspace dialog, click Delete workspace, or Cancel to keep it.

Orbital shows Workspace deleted, cancels the workspace's subscription and switches you to your personal workspace. If Orbital refuses, the dialog stays open and says why.

Notification settings

Notifications, under Account in the same menu, holds your own delivery settings for the current workspace.

Its card Where notifications reach you sets which channels each category reaches on top of your inbox. See Notifications.

Trash

Trash holds deleted items for 30 days, so you can restore them. Its page reads Deleted items stay here for 30 days, then go permanently.

Trash is not in the account menu. To open it:

  1. Click your avatar and pick any page under Account or Workspace.

  2. Click Trash at the foot of the Settings sidebar.

You can also go to app.orbitalaip.com/settings/trash. It lists the current project's items, plus deleted notification channels and saved views from across the workspace.

Each row shows the name, the kind and the days left, such as Workflow · 12 days left. The count turns amber in the last 7 days, and reads Deleted permanently today when time is up.

What goes to Trash

These items go to Trash when you delete them. A deleted strategy appears as its workflow, a note by its symbol and a chat by its title.

Shown asDelete permanently also removes
ChatIts messages, pasted images and anything shared from it
DashboardIts widgets and saved views
DocumentIts extracted text, search index and the citations that point into it
WorkflowIts versions, run history, schedules and triggers, and for a strategy, the strategy and its backtests
AgentIts run history, tasks and automations, and the artifacts it made, with any dashboard tiles placed from them
WatchlistIts symbols
Notification channelIts delivery settings
NoteIts comment thread
Saved viewNothing else

For a strategy's workflow, the dialog names only the run history, schedules and triggers. The strategy and its backtests go too.

A saved view whose dashboard is also in Trash shows comes back with and the dashboard's name instead of a count. Its Restore is greyed out until you restore that dashboard.

Workspaces, your account and plugin connections never go to Trash. Deleted notifications wait under Deleted in the inbox instead.

Who sees what

Chats, documents and notification channels show only to their owner. Workspace owners and admins also see every deleted document and notification channel. Of those channels, they can restore only shared ones and their own. Everything else shows to everyone in the project.

Restoring an item takes the same role as deleting it.

Restore an item

  1. Open Trash

Open it from the foot of the Settings sidebar, as above.

  2. Open the row's menu

Click ⋮ at the end of the row.

  3. Click Restore

Orbital shows, for example, Workflow restored. The item returns with its contents.

To restore several:

  1. Select the rows

    Tick each row's box.

  2. Click Restore

Click Restore in the bar that appears.

If some cannot come back, the message says why, and those rows stay selected.

A restored workflow comes back with its schedules and triggers off. Turn them on again in the workflow editor. An agent's automations come back on or off, as they were, and an archived agent comes back archived.

Restoring is refused when the workspace is at its plan's limit for that kind of item. Dashboards, documents, workflows and agents count toward those limits. Orbital shows Could not restore with the limit, and the item stays in Trash.

Delete permanently

Delete permanently removes an item before its 30 days are up. Only workspace owners and admins can use it. Others still see it, and Orbital refuses with Insufficient permissions. Required role: owner or admin.

  1. Pick the item

Click Delete permanently in the row's menu, or in the bar for a selection.

  2. Read the dialog

For one item it names what goes with it. For several it gives the count, and the kinds when there are three or fewer. Either way it says this cannot be undone.

  3. Confirm

Click Delete permanently, or Cancel to keep it. Orbital shows Deleted permanently, or for a selection a count such as 3 items deleted permanently.

A workflow that was ever deployed as a strategy cannot be deleted permanently. Orbital refuses with This workflow has been deployed as a strategy, so it cannot be deleted permanently. The deployment record keeps the version it ran, and the workflow stays in Trash. After 30 days its row reads Deleted permanently today, but it stays, and you can still restore it. See deployment.

Admin pages

An Admin group with Waitlist and Users appears only on Orbital staff accounts. It is for running the service, not a workspace setting.
